In partnership with the local library, our Ukrainian Discussion Group brings together book lovers of all ages to explore Ukrainian literature and culture. Twice a month, participants gather under the lead of Vladlena Russova to discuss literary works and expand their knowledge of both Ukrainian and British cultural heritage. Since its inception in August 2023 by the group of volunteers – Hanna Hrekova, Tamila Senko, Olena Nizalova and the generous support from the Canterbury City Council we have grown the collection of Ukrainian literature to nearly 500 publications. Through engaging discussions, online broadcasts, and special presentations, including collaborations with Ukraine’s “Kraina” magazine, we create a space where every book becomes a journey back home.

By keeping the Ukrainian language and literary traditions alive, we help participants stay rooted in their culture while creating meaningful bridges between generations and communities.
