Canterbury for Ukraine at the University Carol Service 2025
On Monday, 8 December, our choir had the incredible honour of participating in the University Christmas Carols in the Cathedral, organised by the University of Kent. Hundreds of people attended this memorable evening of readings, carols, and choral singing in the awe-inspiring atmosphere of the Canterbury Cathedral.
We performed two Ukrainian carols: the world-famous Shchedryk (“Carol of the Bells”) and. Two falcons are flying. We believe this was the first time Ukrainian Shchedryk was sung in Canterbury Cathedral by Ukrainians.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came, to the University of Kent for inviting us, and to Canterbury Cathedral for always welcoming us with warm and open walls. It was a true pleasure to share our music and culture with the community.

From all of us at Canterbury for Ukraine and our choir – we are grateful and happy to have shared this special evening with you!
