I Hear Your Voice: A Concert for Sasha

The Light That Stays Forever: A Concert in Memory of Sasha Ghosh

On July 5th, 2025, the Great Hall of Kent College, Canterbury, became the setting for a profoundly moving and quietly radiant event — a concert in memory of Alexandra (Sasha) Ghosh, a Ukrainian-British girl whose life was tragically cut short by cancer at the age of just sixteen.

Organised by Canterbury for Ukraine in collaboration with the Alexandra Ghosh Memorial Foundation, the event brought together gifted artists, partners, volunteers, and guests to transform Sasha’s legacy into support and care for the children fighting cancer in Ukraine during the war.

Thanks to your incredible support, we raised £4,230 — and this total continues to grow. All funds will be donated to Таблеточки, a trusted Ukrainian charity that provides targeted support to children with cancer and their families in Ukraine.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this evening possible. Thank you to our incredible artists whose extraordinary performances brought light, hope, and healing to every soul in the room: Arin Ghosh, C4U Ladies’ Choir, Rebecca Stroud, Isaac Parker, Canterbury Sing Space Musical Theatre Choir, Aria Fuggle, On Yellow and Blue.

A special thanks to Yuliia Iorsh, a professional psychotherapist, who generously offered emotional support to our choir members before the concert.

Special recognition to C4U Ladies’ Choir conductor Joanna Chapman and choir arranger David Chapman for their dedication and professionalism. Heartfelt thanks to Olena Nizalova, chair of the C4U Ladies’ Choir, for her continuous leadership and support, and to choir administrator Maryna Poltavska.

Thanks to Kent College for their warm hospitality and beautiful venue. We were honoured by the presence of Cllr Keji Moses, Lord Mayor of Canterbury, who not only joined us in support but also took part in our charity raffle, helping draw the winning tickets.

We are truly grateful to Nadiia Hryhorieva for coordinating the presence of the Ukrainian community, and to the entire Ukrainian Community in Kent – Thanet for your warm, emotional, and passionate support.

Special thanks to the talented photographer Stuart Brock, who once again supported our cause and captured the most meaningful moments of the event through his incredible images.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who supported our charity concert materially, and specifically the charity lottery within the event. Thanks to you, dear sponsors, we were able to make this evening both grand and atmospheric, and to offer wonderful prizes:
