At the heart of Canterbury, a group of resilient Ukrainian women gathers to share the universal language of music. The C4U Ladies’ Choir, founded and chaired by our trustee Olena Nizalova, is not just about singing—it’s about finding solace, unity, and strength in the midst of hardship. Under the guidance of Choir Director and Conductor Joanna Chapman and Artistic Director, Accompanist and Arranger David Chapman, the choir performs Ukrainian songs that preserve Ukrainian culture, connect with the local community, and offer a powerful reminder that music can heal even the deepest wounds.
In times of difficulty, the choir provides a space of support and belonging, where women can find comfort and friendship, while keeping alive their Ukrainian musical culture.
The Choir is grateful for support by the Canterbury City Council and St.Peter’s Methodist Church.
